Emma Jean Conwell
June 21, 1934- August 9, 2024
Emma Jean (Werline) Conwell (aka Jeanie), age 90, of Anderson, left us on August 9, 2024 at Sugar Fork Assisted Living Center after an extended illness. Emma was born on June 21, 1934 in Elwood, IN the daughter of Conrad and Hilda Werline.
She was a graduate of Elwood’s Wendell Willkie High School. She first started working at A&W Root Beer Stand, where she met her husband to be, Leo J. Conwell, for the next 67 years. She soon followed that by working at Excello Corporation and then on to Delco Remy, later becoming the owner of AAA Bail Bonding Service from the 1980’s and into the mid 2010’s. Emma was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Leo J. Conwell , whom she married June 6, 1953; grandchildren, Bryan Kemper, Courtney Kemper and Kyle Kemper; son-in-law, Ray Beavers of Smithville, MO.
She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda (Jack Jr.) Leffel of Fredericksburg, Virginia and Jodi Beavers of Smithville, Missouri; two grandsons, Gordon Leffel of Davenport, Florida and Jordon Leffel of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and Lee Ann Guildenbecher, a niece, who dropped in now and then to keep all those family memories alive and fresh.
To family friends Rick and Vickie Fowler, who spent a countless amount of time helping Emma work out her ordeals the last few years, your time was greatly appreciated and we thank you so very much.
