BELMONT ---- George Joseph Anestis, 76, of Hurricane Road, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
George was born on December 30, 1947, in Cambridge, MA, the son of John and Margaret (Hamilton) Anestis.
George spent most of his adult life in the small fishing community of Phippsburg, Maine. He had many friends in Phippsburg and became a staple in the community.
George was most at home either on the water or in the woods. Many of his best days were spent doing what he loved, fishing out on the water at Totman Cove or taking one of his beloved dogs for a ride around town.
He lived his life on his own terms and influenced many people along the way. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many. Mention George to anyone who knew him and there was sure to be a funny or interesting story to follow.
