Obituary

Ken W. Lanning, age 82 of Prosser, died August 5, 2024 at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. He was born on June 30, 1942 in Greentown, Indiana to Roy and Rosemary Lanning. On November 30, 1962, he married Connie Fouts and she survives him.
Ken was raised and educated in Kokomo and graduated from Kokomo High School. He got his electrician license from Perry Technical Institute. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and served for two years in Spokane, where he met his future wife. He then spent two years in Spain. After his discharge, he moved to Prosser where he spent the rest of his life. During his lifetime, he worked for Twin City Foods, Wades Electric, and the Prosser School District as a custodian for several years until his retirement
Ken was a member of Lifepoint Church of Prosser and the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, small game hunting and camping. Every summer he would always take some of his grandchildren fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 62 years, Connie Lanning; two sons, Scott and Bryan Lanning; his daughter, Tami Lawyer; his grandchildren, Dustin Reade, Kasey Wright, Stan (Jessie) Cone, Cammie, Dirk and Dani Lanning and Nic and Ben (Essence) Williams; and his great-grandchildren, Percy Reade, Carlo and Oliver Cone, Elizabeth Brown, Aurora Williams and Aires Lanning. Other survivors include his in-laws, Roy (Romana) and Patty Fouts, Peggy Valnes and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents; brothers, Rick and Larry Lanning; his sister-in-law, Sherry Ferguson; and brother-in-law, Terry Valnes.
Ken’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Lifepoint Church in Prosser.
