Susan M. Conway, 84, died unexpectedly August 15, 2024. She was born in Hartford, CT on December 3, 1939. The daughter of Frank H. and Ruth I. (Granger) Greene. She grew up in Easton, CT and had resided in Manchester since 1964.
She was educated at Lauralton Hall, Milford, CT, and received a bachelor of science from Tufts University in 1961. She received a Master of Arts in French from Laval University in Quebec, PQ in 1963. Susan taught school in Fairfield, CT and Henniker, NH. She worked at the Veterans’ Administration from 1980-1986 and the New Hampshire Housing and Finance Authority from 1986 until her retirement. After her retirement she volunteered at the American Red Cross, the VA Hospital and was a voting poll assistant during elections.
Susan was predeceased by her first husband, Richard D. Levesque. Family members include her beloved husband, Richard T. Conway, three sons David R. Levesque (Janet) of Natick, MA, Joel R. Levesque of Derry NH, Michael D. Levesque (David) of New York, NY and a daughter, Anne R. Gagnon (Mitchell) of Auburn, NH. A sister, Nancy A. Mullin of Braintree, MA; A step-daughter, Janet (Martin) Crespo of Derry, NH, a stepson, Richard Conway (Tamara); 5 grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Susan was a most generous and kind woman. There are prayer blankets and shawls all over the world that she knit and donated. She loved the arts, knitting, gardening and was very well read.
A Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, August 20th, from 1: 00- 2:30 PM at J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge Street, Manchester. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM. Burial will be private for family at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
