MEREDITH ---- Jason Michael Boulanger, 42, of Meredith, NH, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
He was born on May 3, 1982, in Laconia, NH, the eldest son of Michael and Charlene Boulanger. He held many titles; son, grandson, nephew, brother, friend and his favorite title, uncle.
As a child, Jason led his brothers and cousins in mayhem and enjoyed inventing and fabricating. He once made a motorized kitchen whisk for his mother. When attached to a drill, she could effortlessly whip up over 10 pounds of pancake batter. She just needed a bucket big enough for the batter. As a teenager, Jason could be seen on a dirt bike, four-wheeler, go-kart or bombing around in his S10 or orange Jeep. By the time he graduated from Inter-Lakes High School in 2000, Jason was well into mechanics and construction work of all types. In 2002, he joined his brother Kenny at the University of North Western Ohio, but the calling to be an entrepreneur was too great and in 2003 he pursued self-employment and life experience opportunities.
Throughout his adult life Jason collected strays - people, tools, random building supplies, motors and pedal bikes. He had the unique ability to always see the best in someone or something, even if that something was a busted jet boat that needed more than any mechanic could offer. Jason maintained self-employment working odd jobs in construction and mechanics. He enjoyed spending his time tinkering in his self-made space after work and always maintained an open-door policy.
Jason will be remembered as the uncle who played Barbies and board games with Claire, who always let Ensley and Eliza help with home improvement work, taking his role of big brother to Kenny, Shawn and Randi very seriously, the great-grandson who never missed an opportunity to visit his great-grandmother Helen with coffee and cook her dinner, the grandson that would go to dinner at Gigi and Grampie’s and stay for a few days, the nephew roofing and building with family, the son who was known as “The Blue-Eyed Gerber Baby with the Killer Smile”, and yes, the son that gave his parents most of their gray hair, and a friend to all people and animals. He had the biggest heart and would always want to help anyone in need, help them with problems they didn’t even know they had, and fix them in the most Jason-way possible.
Jason is survived by his brothers Kenny (Jenny) Boulanger and Shawn (Jayda) Boulanger, his sister Randi (Jacob) Fogarty, nieces Claire, Ensley, Eliza Boulanger and Grace Fogarty, nephews Carter and Jackson Gelo and Jacob and Lucas Fogarty, grandparents Robert and Mary Blake of Laconia and Dennis and Lucienne Boulanger of Meredith and many aunts, uncles and cousins fondly referred to as The Tribe.
Jason was greeted in Heaven by his predeceased great-grandparents Dorea and Helen Decato, Roy and Edna Murgatroy, grandparents James and Shirley Murgatroy, grandmother Beatrice Moreau, uncle Daniel Boulanger and cousin Michele Chase.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday August 25, 2024, from 1:00pm-5:00pm at the family home, 4 Meadow Lane, Meredith, NH 03253.
