Rita Remillard
1928 – 2024
FEEDING HILLS – Rita (Picard) Remillard, 95, of Feeding Hills, was Called Safely Home on Friday, August 9, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Saint Raphael de Bellechasse, Province of Quebec, Canada on December 2, 1928, a beloved daughter of the late Jean Baptiste Picard and Leda (Roy) Picard. She was raised and educated in Saint Raphael, Province of Quebec, Canada and settled in the North End section of Springfield in 1950 where Rita and her husband, Normand, raised their family. They later moved to Feeding Hills in 1981 where Rita lived the remainder of her life. She was a communicant of the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield where she was a longtime member of Les Dames de Sainte Anne of the parish. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Mark M. Remillard who was Called Home on October 1, 2006. She leaves her loving husband and best friend, Normand J. Remillard. They were married on June 29, 1950 at Le Paroisse de Saint Raphael in Canada and were blessed with over 74 years of happiness together. She also leaves her five loving and devoted children, Linda M. Remillard and her husband, Vin Fusaro, of Feeding Hills, Richard R. Remillard and his husband, Louis Ruggiero Jr., of Holyoke, Raymond N. Remillard and his wife, Mary, of West Springfield, Robert P. Remillard and his wife, Ela, of Chicopee, and Gary N. Remillard and his wife, Virginia, of Wilbraham; her five cherished grandchildren, Nicole (Mark), Natalie, Nicole (Robbie), Gregory (Bonnie), and Matthew (Kevin); her seven cherished great grandchildren, Isaac, Isaiah, Jimmy, Giara, Jonathan, Olivia, and Aubrey; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members in the United States and Canada. In addition to her parents and son, she was predeceased by her 15 dear brothers and sisters. Her Funeral and Burial were private.
