DUDLEY – Gail M. (Daskowski) Arpin, 80, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 in UMass Medical Center, University Campus after an illness.
She leaves 3 children, Suzette M. Mantha and her companion John Paquette of Webster, Troy R. Arpin and his companion Christen Young of Woodstock, CT and Nicole L. Lawrence and her husband Jason of Stafford, CT; 7 grandchildren, Zachary Mantha, Brittany Mulqueen and her husband Chris, Ethan Mantha, Kaylee Arpin, Brooke Arpin, Cameron Lawrence and Nathan Lawrence; 2 sisters, Barbara Minella of Putnam, CT and Loretta Tencati of East Hampton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roger R. Arpin in 2021 and brother James “Jimmy” Daskowski in 2015.
Gail was born on January 28, 1944 in Webster. She was the youngest of three daughters to Stanley J. and Theresa (Kaliszewski) Daskowski.
In addition to raising three children with her husband, Mrs. Arpin worked as a personal care assistant traveling throughout Worcester County for many years. Gail lived her life as a devout Christian, whose warm open-hearted personality was well-suited for her job. She truly enjoyed her work, making every effort to ensure her patients were comfortable and attended to under her care. She often recalled the memories she shared with the wonderful people she met and tended to throughout her career.
Gail will fondly be remembered for her amusing malapropisms that never failed to make everyone around her burst into laughter. Her unique linguistic quirks, great sense of humor, and infectious laugh endeared her to all who had the pleasure of her company. She was an avid shopper, proficient at bargain hunting, and will be dearly missed by T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods. In her free time, Gail enjoyed feeding the birds at her home and watching shows that predominantly involved hauntings. Her greatest joy came from spoiling her grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 9:30 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley (please meet at church). Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
