Markie Dion, 34 of Dracut, MA, passed away after an undiagnosed medical condition on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at his home.
He was born in Lowell on May 24, 1990 and was the son of Barbie (Jones) Bergstrom of Dracut, and David Dion of Methuen. He was raised and educated in Lowell and Dracut, graduating from Dracut High School with the class of 2008.
During his lifetime, he had many jobs, his favorite (and most recent) of which was as a Tree Climber/Equipment Operator. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar, riding dirt bikes and motorcycles. He was very creative, and especially talented at graphic design. He loved the outdoors and swimming at his grandparents’ home. Spending time with family was very important to him. He spent Sunday mornings attending church at Grace Community Church Chelmsford, MA with his mom.
Markie is survived by his mother, Barbie Bergstrom his stepfather, Steven Bergstrom of Dracut, and his father, David Dion of Methuen. He also leaves behind his two beautiful daughters, Kassidy Rose Dion Dracut and Harley Nicole Dion of Tyngsboro; his sisters Ashley Dion of Dracut, MA and Michelle Nault of Billerica, MA, brothers Christopher Mailloux of Billerica, MA, Joshua Dion of Londonderry, NH., David Dion Jr. and Michael Nault of Billerica, MA, his grandparents Edward and Flora Bell of Tyngsboro, MA and Diane Gaudet of Methuen, MA, his girlfriend, Ashley Conti of Dracut, MA and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

On Monday, August 19, 2024 all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4-8 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816.
Church Service will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2024, 10:00 AM at the Grace Community Church, 275 Billerica Rd Chelmsford, MA, with celebration of life at 12 noon at the Lo-Kai Restaurant in Dracut, immediately after.
