Doris A. Palmer, age 89, of New Port Richey, FL and a former longtime resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully, August 7, 2024 in Florida. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Palmer. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Daisy (Burwell) Lopshire.
Doris is the devoted mother of Robert Palmer of Salem, NH, Michael Palmer and his wife Della of Port Richey, FL, and the late Susan Palmer. She was the loving grandmother of Michael, Timothy, and Sean Palmer, and Heather O'Leary. She was the loving great grandmother of Brook, Evelyn, Scarlett, Jackson, and Raven. Sister of Lester Lopshire, the late Lavern Lopshire, Ethel Parker, and Elaine Rice.
Throughout her life, Doris was a very talented and creative person, she enjoyed knitting, making arts and crafts and donating them to the homeless and different Veteran organizations for people less fortunate to enjoy and use. When Doris moved to Florida later in life, she enjoyed socializing with other residents of her community and began playing billiards regularly. She became quite good and her friends gave her the nick name of "Baby Shark". Doris will fondly be remembered for her kindness towards others and her unconditional love and devotion for her family.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Monday, August 19th, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
