Aran, Joy D., 74 of Falmouth, MA, passed at Falmouth Hospital on August 12, 2024 after a long illness. Mrs. Aran was predeceased by her parents Randall and Pearl Hirtle, sister, Joan Daniels, and brothers George, Randy, and Ronald Hirtle. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Manuel Aran, children, Mike Aran, Angela Crawford, David Aran, eight grandchildren, and sisters, Jeannette Ide, Joanne Maturo, and brothers Harry, Melvin and Chuck Hirtle. Joy was a Christian teacher and writer, interim pastor, and prison ministry chaplain. After years of serving along with her husband in his pastorates in South Boston, Waverly, PA, and Union City, PA, Joy graduated from a Lay Pastors’ Program through Eastern Baptist Seminary and served as a chaplain in the PA State Correctional Facility in Cambridge Springs, PA, as Interim Pastor in Swansea, MA, as a Volunteer Chaplain at Falmouth Hospital, and as Chaplain for men at Barnstable County Correctional Facility. Her lifelong goal was to share her love of God in a way that would help people come to a personal relationship with Jesus her Lord.
A celebration of life will take place at Harbor Church, 957 Falmouth Rd., Hyannis, MA 02601 on August 19th at 11AM.
