With heavy hearts, we announce the passing, transition of Dorothy (Pero) Spellman on August 6, 2024, at the age of 77.
Born Dorothy Ann Pero on July 16, 1947, in Boston, Ma.
She was known as Mom, Umma, Auntie Dotty, Dorothy, Dotty and B-ma. She lived a life being loved and loving. Her favorite holiday, Christmas. If you needed some wisdom, she was the one to call.
Dotty was preceded by her amazing parents Patricia (Attaya)(Pero)Denton of Roslindale and Richard (Dick) Pero of Roslindale. and her lifelong partner, David McHowell.
She is survived by her brothers Dick Pero and his wife Joyce and her brother Dan Pero and his wife Sharon.
Her first cousins, who are more like siblings, Edwina Pero and Bill Pero.
Her legacy is her two loving daughters, Kerrie Bacci and Cyndi Spellman and her Grandson Joseph Stewart.
Dorothy is also survived by her ex-husband John Spellman, her brother-in-laws Robert Spellman and his wife Eileen and Thomas Spellman and his wife Teresa. Also survived by 5 nieces and nephews, 12 grandnieces & nephews, her partner David's children Scott McHowell (deceased) and Billy McHowell and their children who called her B-ma.
She was loved by many, including her cousins, and friends of a lifetime.
She is still loved very, very much and is missed very much.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Chrysostom Church 4750 Washington St. West Roxbury on Saturday, August 31st at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
