DRISCOLL, Jane T. Age 92, of Dedham passed away on August 12, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. A lifelong Dedham resident and wife of the late Nicholas J. Driscoll of Cork Ireland. Mother of Margaret Driscoll of Westwood, Mary Driscoll of Richmond, VA, son Timothy Driscoll and his wife Elizabeth Kresse-Driscoll daughter Mairead Driscoll of Fairfax, VA, Nora Driscoll Esq., of Worcester, MA, and son Nicholas Driscoll and his wife Kim Lord-Driscoll and their children Delaney, Ailish and Nicholas Driscoll Jr. of Salem, MA. Beloved sister to the late Mary (May) Mullins of Dedham, Kay Tuohy of Wellesley, and Patrick Mullins of Westwood.
Born in Dedham to Teresa Hammel-Mullins and John S. Mullins, she attended Ames elementary/junior high and Dedham High School (class of 1950). Before being married she worked at the Dedham Public Library and later for the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Jane, called Jennie by friends and family, enjoyed travel which started with her honeymoon trip to Ireland to meet her husband’s family, and along the way her passport carried the stamps from visits to England, Scotland, Russia, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, and Canada. Jennie loved all things political and electronic. In the 1980’s she wiled away the late-night hours waiting for her high school and college age children to get in late on weekend nights playing pac-man and pong. In later years she was a fan of all things Apple. She was an active user of What’s App to talk to the Irish relatives, thrived on on-line solitaire, loved texting/emailing grandchildren, and could be seen through the front window working on her Mac.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Friday, Aug. 16 from 9:00-10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
