Frederick J. Dacey, Jr. 91, of Franklin, and a former longtime resident of Westwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 10, 2024, at Brookmeadow of Blue Hills Assisted Living in Stoughton.
He was born May 2, 1933 in Boston, to Frederick J. Dacey, Sr. and Elizabeth F. (Manley) Dacey. He was a proud resident of Franklin and was a graduate of Roxbury High School.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was an active member of the Franklin VFW.
After being honorably discharged, he went on to be a supervisor at the South Boston Postal Annex.
Frederick was the loving husband of the late Lorraine (Maginnis) Dacey. He was also the devoted brother of the late Sister Mary Dacey of New Jersey.
Frederick leaves behind his four children, Cheryl Fafara of North Attleboro, Joan Dacey of Holbrook, Stephen Dacey of Walpole and Richard Dacey of Brighton.
He also leaves behind his loving granddaughter Kristen Proulx of North Attleboro and his three great grandchildren, Austin Proulx of Pawtucket, RI, Cameron Spangler and Brody Spangler both of North Attleboro.
Frederick will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Thursday August 15th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 3-7PM.
His funeral Mass will be held Friday August 16th, in St. Brendan Parish 384 Hartford Ave Bellingham, MA at 10AM.
Burial with military honors will follow at Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
