WORCESTER__Helen R. (Luszczynski) Chadwick, 93, of Worcester, MA, died peacefully in her summer home in West Yarmouth on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Her husband Edwin H. Chadwick died in 2023.
She is survived by sons, Robert M. Chadwick and wife Alejandra, Philip Chadwick and wife Roberta; daughter Beth Reid; and four grandchildren, Benjamin Chadwick, William Chadwick, Chelsea Reid and Samantha Reid. She is predeceased by her son Jeffrey Chadwick and siblings, Norbert, Lucian, Elwin, and Chester Luszczynski, Regina Lawendowski, Pola Toczko, and Alfreda Luszczynski. She attended grade school at St. Mary’s in Worcester and later attended Commerce High School.
After raising her children, she worked as a teller at People’s Bank in Worcester. Subsequently she worked at First Safety Fund National Bank in Worcester where she became branch manager. She then worked many years in administration at Wright Line Corporation in Worcester and finished out her career as a file clerk for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Worcester. She enjoyed entertaining, trips to the beach, travel, and sampling the variety of pubs and restaurants around Worcester and Cape Cod. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, and Bruins. She also loved animals and was a perpetual dog owner.
Calling hours will be on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester. Following the calling hours, a funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street, Worcester. Burial will take place on a future date at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA where she will be interred alongside her husband, a WW II veteran. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League at 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
