Deltha/Del (Souza) Vieira 89, of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 28,2024 at home at Hawthorne Village, Ocala, Florida She was the wife of Richard D.A. Vieira.
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Manuel E. Souza and the late Mary (Massa) Cordeiro, she lived in Westport for over 50 years. She attended Westport schools and as a young farmgirl she helped out preparing the products for market. She worked at Fall River Knitting Mills and was manager of the Westport High School cafeteria for many years. She was cofounder of the Westport Jr, Miss Pagent and was co-owner of Brookwood Kennels. In 1981 they moved to Ocala, Florida, where there she was active in sewing and crochet clubs that distributed many items to vets, hospitals, and other charties.
Survivors along with her husband include her daughter Cynthia (Vieira, Rego) Gallant of Lakewood Ranch, Florida: son Bruce Vieira and his wife Ann of Ocala, Florida: 3 grandchildren Kimberly Rego, Joseph Rego and Joshua Vieira: great grand-daughter Emelia Vieira: a brother Robert Souza of Florida along with many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Gerald Souza, Gilbert Souza and David Souza
Mass of Christian burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, August 23,2024 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10am
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport
