PORTLAND- Darrell L. Tapley, age 46, formerly of Buxton, passed away at his home in Portland after a period of declining health on Aug. 9, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darrell, a truly one-of-a-kind soul who graced this world with his presence. Darrell was not just an individual; he was an embodiment of creativity, kindness, and charisma. A true artist in every sense, he approached life with a passion that was both inspiring and humbling to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Darrell was a lover of all things that stirred his soul, and his artistic spirit knew no bounds. Whether through his art, his words, or simply his way of being, he had an unparalleled ability to connect with others and to find beauty in the world around him. His humility was as profound as his talent; he entertained and nurtured even the smallest things, especially those that might have been overlooked by others.
His presence was magnetic, his personality charismatic. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and appreciated, a testament to his deep understanding of the human spirit. He is survived by countless friends, admirers, and loved ones who will forever cherish the moments they shared with him. May his memory live on in the beauty he brought to the world.
He is survived by his siblings- Tammy Tapley of South Portland and Donald Tapley of Waterboro; four nieces, one great nephew, and two great nieces.
Darrell’s celebration of life will be held on Oct. 3rd at the Oxbow Beer Garden, 420 Main St., Oxford with the time to be announced.
