WEBSTER – Pauline L. (Gregoire) Norton, 79, died Sunday, August 11, 2024 at home after being stricken ill. Her husband of 41 years, James G. Norton, died in 2009.
She leaves 3 daughters, Danielle M. Norton and her husband James E. Dickman of Beverly, Susan L. Maddalena and James Maddalena, both of Putnam, CT and Karen N. Gregorczyk and her husband Scott of Paxton; 6 grandchildren, Katie Maddalena, Haley Bunyea and her husband Leo, Ava Dickman, James Dickman, Joseph Gregorczyk and Keegan Gregorczyk; her longtime friend Michael Arent; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Janet Bayer.
She was born in Webster on January 16, 1945, the daughter of Arthur and Lea (Noel) Gregoire and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1963 and completed the course of studies at the former Saint Vincent Hospital Nursing School in 1966.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Norton worked at Hubbard Regional Hospital and then at Intermed Associates, both in Webster, before retiring in 2010.
She loved animals, especially dogs, and was an avid reader
Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 26, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on August 26, prior to the Mass. Donations in her name may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
