Frederick Earl Packard, aged 67, passed away on August 10th, in his hometown of Brockton, Massachusetts. Born on June 7, 1957, in Brockton, Fred was a lifelong resident and a pillar of his community.
Fred graduated from Southeastern Regional High School in 1975 from the Machine Drafting program and dedicated many years to a commendable career as a truck driver with F&P Trucking, J.P. Noonan, and Trojan Recycling, while also serving at the City of Brockton Sewer Department. Known for his strong work ethic, Fred was not only a hardworking individual but also a loving father who cherished his family deeply.
Outside of work, Fred had a passion for motorcycle riding, camping, and yard work. He relished vacations in sunny locales, embracing the joy, relaxation & tanning opportunities they brought. His hobbies reflected his love for adventure and the outdoors, bringing joy to everyone around him.
Fred was a beloved son to former Ward 4 Brockton City Councilor Viola Packard and the late Philip Packard. He was a devoted and loving father to his son, Trevor Packard and his wife Vanessa of Foxboro, and his daughter, Samantha Packard and partner Alex Lopez of Weymouth. He also leaves behind his wife, Laurie, sister, Valerie Packard, and her husband Frank Gazerro, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Fred’s family on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 6:00 pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, MA. Interment will be held in Melrose Cemetery in Brockton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to either St. Joseph Manor Health Care, 215 Thatcher Street, Brockton, MA 02302, or the Life Center, 54 Haverhill Street, Brockton, MA 02301 and that you spend a day with someone you love in memory of Fred, honoring his compassionate & loving spirit.
