Mary May Moyer
July 25, 1930 – August 8, 2024
Mary Moyer was born to Albert and Esther (Nolop) Callan of Minneapolis, MN on July 25, 1930. She died on August 8, 2024 in her home of Somerville MA.
Mary graduated from North High School in 1948; she studied art extensively at the Minneapolis Art Institute and University of Puget Sound and she received a MS in Counseling at the University of Oregon. She had many exhibits of her paintings and woodcuts and completed writing her memoir at GRUB Street Memoir Incubator (Boston MA).
Mary’s hobbies included gardening, reading nonfiction, painting, writing, playing piano, cooking, sewing, and watching movies. She was a dedicated fulltime unstoppable Mom.
She was known for her generosity, storytelling, courage, kindness and her sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Steven Moyer, of Portland OR; Tom (Linda) Moyer of Huntley IL and Martha Moyer of Somerville, MA; her granddaughters, Jasmine (Tony) Ferrara of Wesley Chapel, FL, Mindy (Doug) Kluge of Phoenix, AZ, Alyssa Moyer and Emily Moyer; her great-grandchildren, Courtney Ferrara, Hailey Ferrara and Doug Kluge, Jr.; she had many nieces and nephews but only remained in contact with Daniel Callan of La Crescenta, CA.
She was preceded by her parents and her brothers, Robert Callan, Joe Callan and Patrick Callan; by her grandchildren Kevin Callan and Emily Moyer.
The Memorial Service is Private and the family is asking in lieu of flowers to make a donation to https://www.alz.org
