Richard L. Robitaille

CHICOPEE – Richard L. Robitaille, 77, a lifelong resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, August 3, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at the Agawam North Rehabilitation and Health Care Center with his loving brother by his side. He was born in Holyoke on October 25, 1946, a beloved son of the late Lawrence H. and Annette M. (Belanger) Robitaille. He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam and attained the rank of Dispersing Clerk Petty Officer Third Class. He received the Navy Unit Commendation and the National Defense Service Medal. He was an accountant for many years until reaching his retirement. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. The most important thing in his life was spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his two loving and devoted nieces, Cynthia M. “Cindy” Higgins and her husband, Arthur, of Agawam and Erica M. Ikonomidis and her husband, Alex, of Longmeadow; his two cherished grandnephews and three cherished grandnieces, Joseph, Jadon, and Eliana Higgins, and Samantha and Sophia Ikonomidis; his dear brother, Robert N. Robitaille of Chicopee; and his extended family members and friends. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial with United States Navy Military Honors will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before Mass.
