Michael F. Sullivan, 75 of Rockland, passed away peacefully at his home, Saturday, August 3rd. Michael, Born in Boston on November 17, 1948, he was the son of John J. Sullivan of Bunadreen, Caherciveen, County Kerry Ireland and Mother Catherine Mayock Sullivan. Predeceased by his siblings: Mary Siscamanis, John J. “Jack” Sullivan, Kathleen Sullivan, Ellen Kelly, and Thomas P. Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan was owner and operator of the SULBRO Cab Co. Previously, he worked for Wales Corporation and for many years he was self employed in the construction industry as a truck driver. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Local 223 of the Construction Workers of Boston, MA. Born and educated in Boston, Mr. Sullivan lived 20 years in Quincy before moving to Rockland, MA. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be on the water. He had a passion for vehicles and took pride in owning his many Lincolns and Cadillacs. He was lovingly nicknamed, “Uncle Mik” by family and known as “Sully” to friends.
Michael was the loving ex-husband to Elizabeth A. Sullivan, who he adored. He is survived by his cherished daughters, Kerry E. Sullivan of Whitman and Christine A. Nicholson and her husband David J. Nicholson of East Bridgewater. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Vera Sampson of Brockton.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM, Friday, August 16th at Holy Ghost Parish, 518 Washington Street Whitman, MA. Burial will be private. Donations will be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284 . See https://www.casperfuneralservices.com for condolences.
