BELMONT ---- Michael (Mike) R. Knox, 46, of Bean Hill Road, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH.
Mike was born on November 7, 1977, in Santa Ana, CA, and was the son of Stephen Knox and Linda Duggan.
Mike would do anything for anyone and he held many titles in his life: son, brother, friend, handyman, uncle, and father. Family was everything to Mike. His favorite role and his greatest joy was being a father to his daughters, Amber and Ashlee. They were his world; he loved nothing more than spending time with them, no matter what they were doing.
Mike worked as a general contractor for many years, having spent the last several years working with Aaron Rodrigue of Gilmanton, NH, doing projects all over the Lakes Region. Mike was an avid New England sports fan; he loved the Red Sox, the Patriots and the Bruins. He also enjoyed fishing, working on automobiles, and home improvement projects, for himself or for friends and family. No project was too big for him and nothing was ever impossible; Mike always found a way. Mike was always putting others before himself, and if you were Mike’s friend, you were family. Mike always showed up and always got the job done, but we jokingly referred to his timeline as “The Mike Timezone.” This was a concept that he introduced to his family and friends letting them know that “he could be early, he could be on time, or he could be days late, but he would always show up.” People close to him understood and accepted this concept, and it was easy to trust in and rely on him, despite not always knowing when. If you knew Mike, you knew he would be there and he wouldn’t let you down.
Mike is survived by his daughters Amber and Ashlee Knox, of Belmont, NH; mother, Linda Duggan, of Laconia, NH; his father, Stephen Knox, of Franklin, NH; step-mother, Diane Belloir, of Franklin, NH; brother, Kris (Cara) Knox, of Tampa, FL; sister Jen (Patrick Jr.) O’Reilly, of Laconia, NH; Michelle (Nicole Valcourt-Knox) Knox, of Laconia, NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Sandy Dattilo, Courtney Knith and Welker Knox, of Tampa, FL; Patrick III and Cohen O’Reilly, of Laconia, NH, and Taelynn Valcourt-Knox, of Laconia, NH. Mike was the nephew of Harry and Sue Direen, of Colorado Springs, CO; Rick and Alex Duggan, of Coto de Caza, CA and Bob Duggan, of Moreno Valley, CA; and several cousins.
