Carol E. (Hanlin) Bell, age 88, of Brockton, died on August 4, 2024 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Carol was the loving wife of the late John J. Bell. Born in Kempton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Georgia (Uphold) Hanlin. She was raised on a farm in Oakland, MD and was a graduate of Oakland High School, class of 1955. Prior to moving to Brockton in 1969, she lived in Watertown and Allston.
Proud of her work ethic, Carol worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Watertown Electric Supply Company, Grey Steel in Whitman and retired from a law office in Braintree.
Carol was family oriented, extremely strong willed and had an amazing sense of humor. In addition to time spent with her family, she enjoyed puppies, meeting friends for lunch, country music concerts and playing computer solitaire.
Carol is survived by her daughter Kimberley Gale and her husband Bob of Indian Harbor Beach, FL and her son Kevin Bell of Brockton. She was the grandmother of Jason Walden and his wife Tammy of Mansfield and Amy Aguiar and her husband Mike of North Attleboro and great grandmother of Andrew DuCharme, Kyle Rivet, Mackenzie Chisholm, Ethan Walden and Hunter Walden. She was predeceased by her siblings Nina Stanford and her husband Richard and AJ Hanlin and his wife Letha.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Wednesday, August 14 from 10-11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30pm.
