MUCCIACCIO, Virginia Anne “Ginny” or “Nonnie”, age 93, of Dedham, passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2024. Ginny had a profound impact on the lives of many and was a beacon of light in the communities that she dearly loved and served. She will be missed beyond measure by her large extended family, friends and compatriots. She was very active up until her death, driving, attending her great-grandchildren’s sporting events, working for the Massachusetts Mayflower Society, traveling, and attending meetings and events across the country for the many organizations about which she was very passionate. She and her husband were instrumental in organizing the South Shore Conference of Pop Warner football in the 50s and 60s and the Dedham High School Booster Club. She was the past Executive Secretary and Governor of the Massachusetts Mayflower Society, former State Treasurer and Governor General for the Daughters of the American Revolution, Member of the Daughters of Colonial Wars, past State President of the Massachusetts Daughters of 1812, Past National Vice President of the National Society Daughters of the American Colonist, a member of the National Society Women Descendants of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and former Treasurer of the Francis Wyman Association. She was most proud of sharing her unique pilgrim heritage with her children and grandchildren and anyone else who would listen. She will be remembered for her stories of Dedham, her backyard pool parties, her famous brownies and banana bread, and her commitment to her volunteer work to various lineage organizations throughout her lifetime.
Ginny was born in Brookline to Daniel and Ethel (Woods) Ledegang. She was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1946. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Henry Mucciaccio of Dedham, her two grandchildren, Tina True of Westwood and Erik Brennan of Medford and her sister, Carolyn Romaker of Thousand Oaks, CA. She is survived by her four children, Nancy (and Peter) True of Westwood, Daniel Mucciaccio of Dedham, Richard (and Gladys) Mucciaccio of Pompano Beach, FL and Laurie Brennan of So. Attleboro.. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Tara (and Greg) Murphy, Tracy (and Ashley Milley) True, Thomas and Travis True, Ricky Mucciaccio (and Dre) and Jessica and Patrick Brennan, as well as her 11 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mason, Merrill, Maggie, Morgan and Maisie Murphy, Beckham and Milley True and Dylan, Ricki and Davis Mucciaccio.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Monday, August 12 from 4-7 PM with a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, August 13 at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Church, 420 High St., Dedham followed by her burial at Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
