Obituary



Vasil Theodhoraqi, 93, of Worcester died Tuesday, August 6th at home surrounded by his loved ones.

His wife of 71 years, Margarita (Papakristo) Theodhoraqi died in 2023. He leaves his children and their spouses, Ilia and Magdalena Theodhoraqi, Ola and Xhemal Dymi, and Kostandin Varfi; his grandchildren, Glorianna Theodhoraqi, Jonida Duque, Orieta Kristo, Eva Varfi, and Julian Dymi; his great-grandchildren, Damian, Cataleya, Danny, Ari, Klaidi, Kalvin, and Oliver; his nephew, Gjergji Theodhoraqi with his wife Katina and their two children Pandush and Nasjela Theodhoraqi, and niece Zhani Milloshi. Vasil was predeceased by his loving daughter, Valentina Varfi in 2016, and a brother, Thanas Theodhoraqi.
He was born in Ersek, Albania the son of Ilir and Ollga (Danga) Theodhoraqi. Vasil immigrated to the United States in 1993 with his family in search of a better life.
In Albania, Vasil was a dedicated elementary school teacher, shaping the minds and hearts of countless young students with his wisdom and kindness. His passion for education and his commitment to his students were evident in all that he did.
Vasil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather He had a passion for gardening, fishing, and spending quality time with his family. His green thumb and love for nurturing plants brought beauty and joy to our lives. His eyes would light up whenever he reeled in a big catch, and his stories of fishing adventures will always be cherished. In addition to his love for outdoor activities, Vasil was also a modern man who embraced electronic and social media even at age of 93. He enjoyed staying connected with distant family and friends, sharing his gardening tips and fishing tales on Facebook.
His kindness, warmth, and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Vasil leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and cherished memories. His spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
His visitation is Saturday, August 10th from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street followed by his funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church.
