Worcester: Robert A. Erickson, 82, formerly of Whitinsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Knollwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his loved ones by his side. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Judith K. (Nowak) Erickson; step-son David S. Kidwell and his wife Jennifer of Litchfield, NH; three grandchildren- Morgan, Jacob, and Jack; a brother Donald Erickson of Sutton, MA; a sister Martha George of West Boylston, MA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Bob was born in Worcester, son of the late Robert G. and Martha (Hill) Erickson. He graduated from Auburn High School and Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. He worked as a security guard for Allied Security and was stationed at the Sovereign Bank on Main St. Worcester, MA before retiring. He also had worked for Wackenhut Security and Northeast Security. He sang in the choir for many years at the Village Congregational Church in Whitinsville. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worcester, was an avid reader of science fiction books, and enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
In remembrance of Robert’s life, services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 with calling hours from 10-11 a.m., followed by a funeral at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 73 Lancaster St. Worcester, MA 01609.
