Donald “Don” Eugene Lattanzi

Born in Wellsley, Massachusetts to parents Anna Bruce Lattanzi and Alfred Lattanzi (Both deceased.)
Donald died peacefully in bed, at the Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham, Massachusetts on August 1, 2024. A Catholic of very strong faith, He attended church services regularly. He served in The United States Air Force from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1958. He married his first and only wife: Helen Parks Lattanzi, on October 10, 1970.
He is survived by her and his two sons: Gene and Michael. He is also survived by his daughter in-law, Christina and his two beloved grandsons: Geoffrey and Brady Lattanzi. In 1997 he received his nursing degree. He worked as a nurse on both the east and west coasts for many years until his retirement. He has lived in Palm Springs, California as well as in the state of Virginia before relocating back to his roots in Wellesley, then to Waltham. He had a book of his life published by the kind people at Maristhill, entitled: A Life Well Lived, in early 2024.
Donald loved animals, especially his many dogs and cats throughout his lifetime. He had an affinity for Saint Francis Of Assisi. He was a great cook and many people enjoyed his great meals. He enjoyed painting in watercolors. His themes were typically flower arrangements or religious themes.
Being of strong faith, he believed deeply in Jesus Christ and often prayed to Mary, The Blessed Mother. He will be remembered and surely missed by those he knew and loved.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church 502 Washington St. Wellesley on Thursday, August 8th at 10am. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
