WEST SPRINGFIELD – Robert P. “Bobby” Fortin, 62, of West Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, August 4, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on May 31, 1962, a beloved son of the late Robert A. and Marjorie E. (Pelland) Fortin. He was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, graduated in 1980 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School where he was the Colts Quarterback and one of the Co-Captains, proudly wearing Number 10. He moved to West Springfield in 2000 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a Parts Manager for over 18 years at Freightliner of Hartford and previously for Tri-State Trucking in Enfield, CT. Bobby loved to be outdoors and enjoyed snowboarding, mountain biking, golfing, and one wheeling. He was an avid New England sports fan and loved to listen to music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Ann M. (Gardner) Fortin. They were married in Chicopee on June 26, 1999 and they were blessed with over 25 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving and devoted children, Jennifer and her partner, Victor, of Chicopee, and Joshua and his partner, Kathleen, of West Springfield; his three cherished grandchildren, Alexandria, Kobi, and Julianna; his dear brother, Bruce A. Fortin and his wife, Joanne, of Sterling; his dear sister, Christine E. Fortin of Nantucket; and his many dear brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members, and numerous friends. Family and friends are invited to attend Visiting Hours on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. which will conclude with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private.
