Gayle Kelloway, wife of Scott Kelloway, of Andover, Massachusetts passed away on August 2, 2024. She was born in Chelmsford, Massachusetts to Ernest and Ruth DeMartinis on October 16, 1962. She is survived by her husband, Scott, and her three children, Kyle Kelloway, Ryan Kelloway, and Jyllian Kelloway of Andover, Massachusetts. She was the oldest of four children and is survived by her mother Ruth and her siblings Mark DeMartinis, and his wife Kristen, Guy DeMartinis and his wife Michele, and Todd DeMartinis and his girlfriend Lily. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, as well as her many, many close friends.
A proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and Lesley University, Gayle earned her Masters in Education and dedicated her career to teaching. As an elementary school teacher at North Andover Public School, she inspired countless young minds as a 2nd grade teacher and also as an educator to those with distinct support needs.
Gayle’s greatest joys were her family, their energetic outdoor pursuits, her students, and her creative pursuits. The love story of Gayle and Scott was a beautiful one, true soulmates. She loved animals, gardening, crafting, and being anywhere outdoors — campground, sailing, hiking trail, lake, ski slope, beach — that her husband and kids were. She had a strong faith and was a devout Catholic. Gayle was so proud — and rightly so — of her three children and their loved ones, Mark, Riley, and Dillon, and she loved every minute she spent with them. Gayle was always her happiest being with her family, friends, and students, and they loved being with her. She is remembered uniquely for her beautiful crafts both as projects and as a special touch she brought to each occasion. As a friend and relative, she was loved for her ability to bring true joy, unconditional love, and deep understanding. Best listener ever.
The family welcomes guests to a wake at the Burke-Magliozzi funeral home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Massachusetts on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, from 4 pm to 8 pm. The family also welcomes guests to Gayle's Funeral Mass to be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at noon in St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844, in Gayle’s memory.
