Obituary



Margaret “Maggie” T. (Ippolito) Giordano passed away peacefully at her Medford home on Thursday, August 1st. She was 101 years old. Born and raised in Boston’s North End, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Providenza Ippolito.

Maggie was part of an extremely close and loving family. At age 45, she met and married Salvatore Giordano of Medford and they became an instant family, as Sal had two sons, Ed and Paul. Maggie continued her lifelong work for the garment union as a seamstress in Chinatown. She retired to care for Sal when he became ill. Maggie was a strong and devout woman who loved her family and God. She was often praying for someone, saying the rosary for their intention and daily watched the Boston Catholic TV Mass. She was blessed to see her four grandchildren all graduate from college and was especially proud to be a great-grandmother to Three. Maggie was a beautiful person and a blessing to her family.

The beloved wife of the late Salvatore Giordano who passed away in 1992, she was a devoted mother to Deacon Edward Giordano and his wife Carol of Stoneham and Paul Giordano and his wife Mary of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Mary and her wife Sandy Estrada, Matthew and his wife Jamie, Michela Glantz and her husband Louis, and Alex. She was a loving great-grandmother to Cecelia, Ryan and Tyler. Maggie was pre-deceased by her dear brothers and sisters, Connie Leccese, Mary Picariello, Joseph, Alfonso, Tony and Michael Ippolito. She also leaves many dear nieces and nephews. On behalf of Maggie's family. They would like to thank all of her caregivers at Home Instead and Care Dimensions Hospice.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Monday, August 5th from 4 – 7 PM and again on Tuesday morning, August 6th at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 AM in Saint Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
