Obituary

Meady John Blaisdell, 89 years old, of Casselberry, FL, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Meady was born on August 1, 1934, to Frances Marie Ahearn and Vesper Freeman Blaisdell in Natick, MA. He attended school in Merrimac, MA. After completing his education, Meady enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in September 1960. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita, on July 14, 2020. Meady and Anita were married just shy of 63 years.
Meady retired after 35 years of employment at Raytheon Corporation. In his younger years, he was the owner of several racehorses. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, boating, bowling, golfing, darts, shuffleboard, bingo, and absolutely loved living by the water.
They are survived by their three children, Wayne D. Blaisdell and wife Martha of Maineville, OH, Valerie A. Lahey-Ouellette of North Andover, MA, and Meady “Buster” Blaisdell Jr. of Orlando, FL. Meady had ten grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren! He is also survived by sisters, Karen Giaquinta of Derry, NH, Frances Dallaire of Pelham, NH, and a brother, Frederick Blaisdell of Derry, NH.
A joint memorial service for Meady & Anita to honor and celebrate their lives will be held on Thursday September 26, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 4 – 6pm prior to the service.
