It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of Joan Soper, the kindest, most caring, and loving mother and Nana. Joan left us on July 31st, surrounded by her family and the love she so generously gave throughout her life.
Joan was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and selflessness. She dedicated her life to her family, friends, and community, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joan was a devoted mother to Heather, Michael and Danny, whom she cherished with all her heart. Her guidance, support, and unconditional love were the cornerstones of their lives. She taught her children the importance of compassion, empathy, and resilience, leaving them with a legacy of love and strength. She was a devoted grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who brought immense joy and light into her life.
Her home was a sanctuary of comfort and joy, filled with laughter, delicious meals, and an open door to anyone in need. Her gentle spirit and nurturing heart made this world a better place.
She is survived by her children Heather Capraro and her husband Tony Capraro, Michael Soper and his wife Alyssa Soper, Daniel Soper and his wife Andrea Soper. Nana to Jillian Curley, Zachary Soper, Kaitlyn Soper, Ethan Soper, and Emily Soper, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire and guide them. Loving sister to Cindy Moquin Kasabian and her partner, Dave Southard, Brother Warren Anderson and his wife Annette. Sister-in-law to Charles and Virgina Soper and Sally Soper. Loving cousins to Judy Soper and Laurie Watson and high school friend Linda Crone. She is also survived by many close nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by the love of her life and husband of 50 years George H Soper. Her parents Arthur and Lousie Moquin. Her sister Louise and her husband Marinier Grant. Brother and sister-in-laws Barbara, Mary, Herbert Soper, Walter Soper, Roberta, Robert Soper, David Soper, Donald Soper and Jeanne Miller.
A celebration of Joan Soper's life will be held on Wednesday, August 14 at 12 noon in Blanchard Funeral Chapel, RTE 58 at the rotary circle, Whitman. Followed by a burial in the St. Patrick Cemetery, Rockland, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the love and joy she brought into their lives.
Joan/Nana will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.
