DUDLEY – Constance O. (Allard) Chenard, 100, died Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Webster Manor after a period fo declining health. Her husband, William L. Chenard, Sr. died in 1974.
She leaves 5 grandchildren, Kimberly J. Ciabaszewski of Dudley, William Lemay of Plainfield, CT, Steven Chenard of Webster, Brian Chenard of Putnam, CT, and Janina Chenard of Charlton; 7 great-grandchildren, twins Trent and Tyler Dionne, Darren Dionne, Robert, Lyndi and Aiden Lemay, and Stevie Chenard; her son-in-law, Robert Lemay of Dudley; her daughter-in-law, Karen Chenard of Webster; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda S. Lemay in 2001 and by her son, William L. Chenard, Jr. in 2011, by her brothers Harold Allard and Harvey A. “Junior” Allard and by her sisters Shirley Arel, Anita Socha, Lucille Pikora and Letha Cacciapouti.
She was born on September 29, 1923 in Webster, a daughter of Harvey A. Allard, Sr. and Anna (Breault) Chenard and lived in Webster and Dudley all her life.
Mrs. Chenard worked as a stitcher at B& W Footwear and then at Webster Shoe. She was employed by Stevens Linen Associates in the calendar towel department. In retirement, she worked part-time as an assembler for Crabtree & Evelyn.
She belonged to Saint Andrew Bobola Church. She liked gardening and crocheting and had been a member of the former Silver Dippers.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, August 6, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. Visitation will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:20 in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
