GRANBY – Michelle M. “Mickey” D’Elia, 67, of Granby, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Saint John’s, Newfoundland, Canada on March 18, 1957, a beloved daughter of the late Rosario H. and Olive M. (O’Brien) D’Elia. She was raised in the Fairview section of Chicopee and graduated from South Hadley High School. She furthered her education and received her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee. She lived in the Fairview section of Chicopee for many years and then moved to Granby in 2016 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a Paralegal for over 40 years at the law offices of Gerard, Ghazey and Bates in Northampton and retired in 2021. Michelle loved to listen to music, attend concerts, and always enjoyed a good book. She was an award winning fife player who travelled throughout the Northeast with the Royal Columbian Drum Corps of Chicopee and the Saint Peter’s Drum Corps of Torrington, Connecticut. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her loving and devoted daughter, Angela L. (Cudworth) Guillemette and her husband, Bryan, of Granby; her cherished twin granddaughters, Chloe and Kaelen Guillemette; her dear brother, Guy F. D’Elia and his wife, Anne, of West Springfield; her dear sister, Susie M. D’Elia of Chicopee; her loving niece, Laura Walker and her husband, Aran, of Cheshire; her beloved grandnephews and grandniece, John, Charlie, and Brooke; and her many dear cousins, extended family members, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her longtime love, Keith E. Cudworth; and her dear brother, Gregory W. D’Elia. Her relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, which will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
