Eileen Mary Elvin (née Burke) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 30, 2024, following a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. Eileen was born in Ballinfoyle, County Galway, Ireland, to Pat and Nellie Burke. A longtime resident of West Roxbury, Eileen worked at Roche Bros. for many years, and cherished visits home to Ireland to visit her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Paul Elvin, and beloved children: her son Gustav, his wife Alison, and their son Cameron; daughter Ann-Marie and her husband Robert; daughter Siobhan; and son Patrick. She is also survived by her siblings, Noreen, Martina, Marian, Bríd, Owen, Martin, Kevin, and Peter, and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 2nd, from 4-8 PM, at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday, August 3rd at 9:30AM followed by the Funeral Mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, 4750 Washington Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132 at 10:30AM.
