João “Tita” Batista Junior peacefully passed on to be with God on July 26th, 2024, after 58 wonderful years, surrounded by his loved ones in his final moments.
Tita emigrated from Brasil, beginning his journey and new life in the US. He held many different jobs until he could continue his passion for masonry that he apprenticed under his father. While working in Martha’s Vineyard his relationship with Ellen deepened, leading to a loving marriage of 29 years.
He decided to open his own tile business which they worked and maintained for 29 years. His company was built from the ground up, following an undoubted passion for tile and masonry that provided for his family until the very end.
Tita had a way to make everyone feel like they were his best friend. When he wasn’t working, he spent his weekends with friends and family watching soccer games rooting for his favorite team Atlético Mineiro. He loved telling funny stories and making people smile and laugh. Especially listening to Sertaneja, singing karaoke and dancing the Brasilian Forro. And how could we forget, he was always whistling.
His legacy lives on through his wife, Ellen, his children, Josiane, Tiago, Eduardo, Nicolle, Maximiano, and his grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia, Eduarda, Bella, Maite.
Joào was the beloved husband of Ellen M. Tortorella Batista. He was the loving father of Josiane Batista and her husband Leyliano Da Silva, Tiago Batista and his wife Thayara, Eduardo Batista Lamin and his wife Daniella Olivera, Nicolle Batista and Maximiano F.T. Batista. Joào was the dear brother of Jose Roberto Batista, Sonia Maria Batista Da Silva, Julberto Dimas Batista, Sueli Batista, Celia Aparecida Batista Martins and Maximiano Batista Neto. He was the cherished grandfather of Sophia Da Silva, Olivia Da Silva, Eduarda Lamin, Bella Batista and Maite Lamin.
