Bobby Joe Holley, born July 19, 1946, passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 78. He was a devoted husband, father, and respected member of his community.
Bobby Joe courageously served his country during the Vietnam War, demonstrating unwavering dedication to his fellow soldiers and his nation. Following his military service, he found fulfillment as a Sawmill Operator for Tolleson Lumber Company, where his strong work ethic and reliability were widely recognized.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Bobby Joe was the proud owner of A & P Lawn Service for 15 years in Centerville, Georgia, where his commitment to quality and customer satisfaction shone through.
A man of deep faith, Bobby Joe was an active member of Houston Lake Baptist Church and cherished his involvement with the Son Shiners Sunday school class. His kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many within his church family and beyond.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Earline Holley; brothers, Jackie Holley, Jessie Holley, and Meryl Holley; sisters, Charlene Jackson, Judy Boyd, and Martha Stanwich; and grandson Connor Hadlock.
Bobby Joe Holley will be remembered fondly by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Holley; children, Amy Brown (Allan) of Warner Robins, GA, Bobby Joe Holley, Jr. (Leslie) of Washougal, WA, Herman E. Holley of Lexington, SC, and Gerald Holley of Leesburg, GA; siblings, Jewitte Kelley (Mike) of Fitzgerald, GA, Hazel Livingston (David) of Lexington, SC, and Joyce Leech (Joe) of Muscle Shoals, AL; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Bobby Joe Holley will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Bobby Joe Holley to the Houston Lake Baptist Church Building Fund at 2300 GA Hwy 127, Perry, GA 31069.
