Patricia Reardon 7/26/1935 – 7/25/2024
Patricia Reardon was born in Haverhill, MA and was raised there as well as Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She graduated from S. Broward High in Hollywood, FL and then moved to Haverhill, MA. After high school she went to work for a bank in Haverhill and she bought a little red convertible. It was her pride and joy. She attended two years at college before getting a job with Raytheon in Andover, MA. She worked as a confidential, private secretary for the Engineering Department. Her career there lasted 28 years.
Upon retirement she spent her time working for 15 years at Canobie Lake in Kiddie Land running the rides. In 1969 she moved to Salem, NH and loved raising her two girls. In 1974 while her oldest stayed with her in NH her youngest daughter returned to Indiana and resides there still.
Patricia loved the beach and spent vacations in Hampton where her daughter and family rented a beach house. She loved long walks on the beach out on the trails, but her best times were when she went dancing. When Lorie married, she loved the family gathering with the in-laws. Holidays were always a grand time for her.
Her proudest moments were in 1974 when after graduating she took her oldest daughter to Bishops for Dinner and her first legal drink. While sitting there the lights went out as they lost power. The waitresses went around the dining room with candles and lit one at each table. They both laughed Hysterically. Who would have thought they would be in a romantic setting.
During her retirement she would have weekly dinners and shopping with her daughter. Before going home after shopping they would share her favorite candy, a Mounds bar.
In 1981 she became grandma to two grandsons. Lorie and Tammy had their children four months apart. In 2012 she became a proud great grandma to fraternal twins, plus three other great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren called her Nonnie, and their love and affection filled her heart with joy.
In 2015 Patricia had a stroke and lived with her daughter for a year until October 2016, then she was moved to Greenbriar Healthcare and Nursing Facility now known as Premier Rehab and HC. Patricia was 88 years old.
Patricia is survived by daughter Lorie (Ayers) Cahalane & spouse, Steven A. Cahalane, Tammy Jo (Ayers) Lamb and Albert J. Lamb, Grandsons, Matthew Cahalane and Larry Allen Lamb. Great-grandchildren, Noelle Cahalane, Maddox Cahalane, Tyler Lamb, Brianna Lamb and Alivia Lamb, her youngest sister Brenda (Irving) Potter and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her sisters, Donna (Irving) (Josephson) Dewhurst and Sandra (Irving) (Iobst) Dilger.
Following cremation, calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 11th from 6 – 7:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to the American Alzheimer’s Assoc. https://www.alz.org
