Cynthia R. (Bailey) Blunt, age 85, died July 23 at the Good Samarian Medical Center. She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Blunt. Cynthia, a native of Avon, was the daughter of the late Wesley and Viola (Chase) Bailey. She is also predeceased by her sister Joan Vars, daughter Eileen Blunt, and son-in-law John F. Lynch, Jr.
Cynthia loved watching the Patriots and Bruins, she loved her dogs, and enjoyed attending the Bertocci Club meat raffles. She was a great cook and a master of the Thanksgiving feast. Cynthia will be remembered as a kind and honest woman who treasured her family, especially her grandchildren.
Cynthia was the mother of Rev. John M. Blunt and his wife Martha of Sturbridge, Ellen (Blunt) Lynch, James Blunt, and Joseph Blunt all of Brockton. Grandmother of Christen Allen, Christopher Blunt, John Mark Blunt, John Lynch, Kathleen Lynch, and Corinne Altham in addition to great grandchildren, Jackson and Scarlett Blunt and Hallie Lynch. She is also survived by her sister Lorraine Bailey of Mountain View, CA.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, from 9-11am at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., Brockton, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
