Obituary

WEBSTER – Kathleen E. “Kathy” (Gregory) Czechowski, 74, died Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in UMass Healthcare Harrington at Hubbard after being stricken ill.

She leaves her husband of almost 52 years, Frank A. Czechowski, Jr.; 4 children, Frank A. Czechowski III and his significant other Heidi Simmons of Webster, Joseph A. Czechowski and his wife Ania of Thompson, CT, and Melissa E. Czechowski and Kimberly E. Czechowski, both of Webster; 9 grandchildren, Erica, Ryan, Kyleigh, Bradley, Connor, Brett, Braylyn, Brooklyn and Victoria; a brother, Paul A. Gregory, Jr. and his wife Ann of Auburn; 2 sisters, Nancy Eisnor and her husband Steven of Charlton, and Patricia Gaspie and her husband Charles of Oxford; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Gregory. She also leaves her beloved pugs Harper and Ace.

She was born on March 24,1950 in Worcester, a daughter of Paul A. Gregory, Sr. and Constance (Anderson) Gregory and was raised in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School in 1968. She attended Quinsigamond Community College and graduated from Worcester State College with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. During her lifetime, she completed many other courses in this field.

Mrs. Czechowski currently operated the Discovery House Preschool and Day Care in Dudley which she owned for 51 years.

She was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica and an active member of the former Saint Joseph Polish Women’s Club. She loved her trips to Old Orchard beach, Maine and playing bingo. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her life revolved around her grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 30, in the funeral Home. The family requests that donations in her memory be made to the Discovery House Preschool and Day Care Scholarship Fund, 85 Oxford Avenue, Dudley, MA 01571.
