Timothy Curtin, 55, of Weymouth, Massachusetts, passed away on July 23, 2024 after a long illness. He was a beloved father and friend, known for his wry humor, gentle nature, and brilliant mind.
Tim was born in Boston and graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall and George Washington University, where he studied history and literature. He went on to earn a Master of Philosophy in Irish Studies from University College, Dublin, where he expressed his love of everything related to history and linguistics. He became fluent in the Irish language and, upon returning to the U.S., taught Irish language classes in the Boston area. He spent his professional career in the mutual fund industry, working at Fidelity Investments, Scudder Kemper Investments, and JP Morgan Chase.
What he really loved was being a father to his two sons, now young adults. He was a wonderful father. Tim and his boys shared a love of long conversations, meandering road trips, film, history, and pizza. He was incredibly funny, a trait he shared with his sons.
Tim is survived by his sons Dermot Curtin and Conor Curtin, his mother Susan Kelley, his sister Molly Berkoff, and his friend and former wife Jane Ward Coleman. He was predeceased by his beloved grandmother, dear friend and fellow wit Mary Curtin, who helped raise him.
