SPRINGFIELD – Jose R. Santos, 54, of the Forest Park section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 25, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on September 10, 1969, a beloved son of Ana A. Candelaria of Manati, Puerto Rico and the late Felix J. Santos. He was raised and educated in Manati, Puerto Rico and moved to Springfield in 1999 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was a talented handyman and enjoyed tinkering around his home. He spent much of his time cruising around on his Honda CBR Motorcycle. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, he leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Antonia (Hernandez) Santos and their two cherished daughters, Antonia Maria Santos and Gabriela Isabel Santos, all of Springfield; his dear brother, Felix Santos of Manati, PR; his two dear sisters, Maria Molina of Orocovis, PR, and Leira Molina of Manati, PR; his three dear sisters in law and three dear brothers in law, Nilda Hernandez, Gladys, Hernandez, Juan Hernandez, Maritza Hernandez, Alberto "Bert" Hernandez, and David Hernandez; and his many dear uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
