Obituary

Kyriakidis, Savvas of Dedham passed away on July 24, 2024. Savvas was born in Mandalo, Greece on May 14, 1935 and immigrated to the United States in 1970 with his devoted wife Sophia and two daughters. He later welcomed a third daughter in the United States. Savvas embarked on a journey as a skilled tailor, eventually realizing his dream of owning his own business. Continuing his Greek culture was important to him, and he, along with others, founded and started St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Roslindale, MA. He was an active member of his community and is cherished by many.

Savvas is survived by his loving wife Sophia; his daughters Simela Margaritis and her husband Antonios, Maria Katsinis and her husband George, and Barbara Zeppieri and her husband Michael; his grandchildren, Katerina Anastasiadis and her husband Anastasios, Angelika Katsinis and her fiancé Brian Boggie, Maria Margaritis, Sophia Zeppieri, and Christina Zeppieri; and his great-grandson Niko Anastasiadis. Savvas is also survived by many siblings, nieces & nephews, and friends.

Savvas will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. His legacy of hard work and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Visiting hours will be held at the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., West Roxbury on Thursday, August 1st from 5-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church 39 Belgrade Ave., Roslindale on Friday, August 2nd at 11am (please go directly to the church). Interment will be at The Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Savvas' memory to St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church 39 Belgrade Ave. Roslindale, MA 02131.
