Edmar L. Goncalves (39) of Brockton died tragically on July 20th in the city.
He was born in Sao Filipe, Fogo, Cabo Verde son of Jose Goncalves of Brockton and Matilde Lopes Goncalves of Cabo Verde. Edmar was a landscaper by trade and a member of the Universal Missionary Church. He loved to watch soccer, dance, socialize with his family and friends and was known by all as the life of the party.
In addition to his loving parents he is survived by his son Edmarley, 2 daughters, Isamara and Alina, 3 brothers, Zezito Goncalves of Cabo Verde, Miguel Goncalves and Jose Goncalves both of Brockton, 3 sisters, Eunice Goncalves, Evandra Goncalves and Iolanda Goncalves all of Brockton, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Friday August 2nd from 5-8 pm.
Services in the Central United Methodist Church, 65 West Elm Street Brockton Saturday August 3rd at 11 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Viewing from 9 am prior to services in the church.
