
Carol Green Peddy, 58, of Tifton passed away, Friday, September 20, 2002, in Mount Airy, North Carolina. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24. 2002, at Tifton's First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Oliver and the Rev. Willie Beasley officiating. Mrs. Peddy was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
John Prince. Wright Turner, Jordan Short, John Cole, Bill Mills, Rick Hooker, Powell Gaines, Roger Dill, Sherwood Collins, Jim Scott, Emmett Bowers, Jimmy Allen, Sandy Sims, Gary Simmons, Butch Davis, Dale Pflug, Bill Trawick and Sonny Hamilton served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the staff of the firm of Allen, Pritchett and Bassett in Tifton.
Born December 23, 1943, in Houston County, Mrs. Peddy was the of Imogene Sutton Green Holmes of Tifton and the late Alfred Riccio Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calloway Hill "Cal" Peddy, Jr. Before retiring, she was the director of Green Leaf in Valdosta, where she was in charge of the Douglas, Albany, Fitzgerald, Vienna and several other locations. She was also actively involved in a research company that did pharmaceutical research in Lynchburg, Virgina; and she was a member of Tifton's First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Peddy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Calloway Hill III and Stacey Peddy of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kappa and Jay Meadows of Lynchburg, Virginia and Anna and Britt Warren of Atlanta; three brothers, David M. Green of Tifton, Henry M. Green of Valdosta and Bob Green of Macon; and four grandchildren.
