Wanda Faye Young, known to family and Friends as "Faye" gained her wings for Heaven bound on July 4, 2024. Faye was born in Sanford, Florida on July 31, 1958. She moved to Point Mugu, California with her parents and siblings in 1970, and graduated from Hueneme High School. Wanda met the love of her life, Herman Young, and they were married on May 23, 1987. They were married for 37 years and together shared two daughters, two sons, and seven grandchildren.
Faye pursued a career as a psychiatric technician at Camarillo State Hospital, where she worked until it closed. After the closure, she went to work for Ventura County of Education as a para-educator. While working, she continued her education and received a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from California State University.
Faye's Hobbies included bowling, camping, fishing, and traveling with her family. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Camarillo.
Wanda young s survived by her Husband Herman Young and her children Myecia Goodman, Stephenson Thompson, Donee Young, and Herman Young II. She will be missed by her siblings Debra Valentine, Prenceas Williams, Clinton Thompson, Danny Thompson, and Falisha Thompson. Her Grandchildren Sereinity Blevins, Stephenson Blevins, Kingston Donelly, Knox Donelly, Naci Gallogos, Dominic Gallogos, and Emmarie Faye Young, as well as a host of cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3101 South Rose Avenue, Oxnard, Ca 93033 on July 27, 2024, at 11:00 am with Bishop Lomont Hayes of New Progressive Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph P Reardon Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Ventura.
