Calloway Hill "Cal" Peddy, Jr., 60, of Tifton passed away Friday, September 20, 2002, in Mount Airy, North Carolina. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at Tifton's First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Billy Oliver and the Rev. Willie Beasley officiating. Mr. Peddy was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
John Prince. Wright Turner, Jordan Short, John Cole, Bill Mills, Rick Hooker, Powell Gaines, Roger Dill, Sherwood Collins, Jim Scott, Emmett Bowers, Jimmy Allen, Sandy Sims, Gary Simmons, Butch Davis, Dale Pflug, Bill Trawick and Sonny Hamilton served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the staff of the firm of Allen, Pritchett and Bassett in Tifton.
Born February 4, 1942, in Dawson, Mr. Peddy was the son of Emily McGee Peddy of Tifton and the late Calloway Hill Peddy, Sr. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Green Peggy. He was a certified public accountant at Allen, Pritchett and Bassett in Tifton.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Peddy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Calloway Hill III and Stacey Peddy of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kappa and Jay Meadows of Lynchburg, Virginia and Anna and Britt Warren of Atlanta; one sister, Barbara Peddy Massey of Tifton; and four grandchildren.
