Obituary

WORCESTER__John J. Kosciuszek, 76, of Worcester, died Saturday, July 22 in his home. He leaves two brothers, Thaddeus Kosciuszek of Littleton and Thomas Kosciuszek of Pahrump, NV; two sisters Frances Riani of Shrewsbury and Theresa Kosciuszek of Worcester; many nephews and nieces and several grand nephews and grand nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Peter Kosciuszek and two sisters, Pauline Deptula and Sister Justine (Helen) Kosciuszek. He was born in Worcester, a son of Alexander and Paulina (Szczygielska) Kosciuszek and lived here all his life.

Mr. Kosciuszek was a clerk for many years for the A & P grocery store and retired after working several years for the Big D grocery stores. John served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Military Police Officer in Germany. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School, where he played basketball. He was a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 26th, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be private. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
