Nicoletta A. (Manzo) Brown, age 74, of Brockton, died peacefully on July 21, 2024 following a period of failing health. Nickie was the loving wife of Jerry A. Brown for 28 years. Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Priscilla M. (Canessa) Manzo.
A graduate of Brockton High School, Nickie attended Georgetown University and Stonehill College. For many years she was an optician for Dr. Goldstein, Harvard Healthcare and Eye World. She also worked at Supreme House of Pizza.
Nickie was an avid reader, played the piano, singing, and was proficient in playing the accordion. She enjoyed talking politics and researching her family history which dated back to the Mayflower. She was a communicant of St. Edith Stein and attended mass at Chapel of Our Savior. Nickie was devoted to her children, grandchildren and dogs.
In addition to her husband, Nickie is survived by her children Anthony Martorana and his wife Charlene, Philip Martorana and Judith Darmetko and her husband Tom. She was the grandmother of Gabriella, Matteo and Mia Darmetko.
Visiting Hours will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Sunday, July 28 from 12-3pm. The funeral procession will gather Monday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10:30 followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
