Obituary

Griffin Shaun Sivret, 24, of Woonsocket, RI died Tuesday, July 23rd in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his parents, Darlene (Jones) Sivret of Holden and Derek S. Sivret and his wife, Jennifer of Chicopee; paternal grandmother, Roberta Flanagan with whom he lived; many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He also leaves his close friend, Wyatt Nestor-Pasicznyk. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Eugene T. Jones, Sr. and Barbara Jones Tashjian.
He was born and raised in Worcester and was a beloved member of the community known for his quiet strength and compassion. He graduated from Worcester Vocational High School and was proud to be part of the last graduating class of Becker College, where he earned a degree in Graphic Design. Griffin’s career journey included roles as a shift lead at Old Navy, an assistant teacher, and as a clerk at Stop & Shop.
Griffin had a deep love for music and video games, and his passion extended to collecting Funko Pop figures. His love extended deeply to his family, especially his cherished son and his beloved pet dragon, Randall. Their bond was a source of great joy and comfort in his life.
He was known for his unique style, often seen wearing Crocs and sporting a love for flamingos. Despite his quiet demeanor, Griffin found his voice when advocating for others, especially within the LGBTQ community. He was a dedicated advocate, ensuring that many in the community had a voice and felt supported.
Griffin’s legacy is one of kindness, creativity, and advocacy. He will be remembered for his warm heart, his unique interest, and his unwavering support for others.
For those who wish to attend Griffin’s services, the family requests that attendees dress casually or wear attire featuring flamingos, a symbol of Griffin’s unique style and spirit.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31st from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester followed by his funeral service. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made in Griffin’s name to a charity of the donors choice.
